What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photojournalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?
We like to think we can cover all of these to one degree or another and we definately try to mix some of each into every wedding we photograph. However the other thing we do is monitor what our customers ask for in albums and as reprints. Experience tells us that by far the most popular are still the traditional and artistic shots so those are the ones we concentrate on.
Do you shoot in colour or black and white?
Can we give you a shot list to work from?
Of course you can give us a list – actually the first time we meet we’ll give you a couple of sample lists to give you some ideas. This is one of the objectives in meeting you, we need to know what you want, if there are any special shots you would like you only have to say!
How long after my shoot will I receive my images
I aim to get your preview gallery online within 7 days, but during very busy periods it may take up to 14 days so please bear with me.
It then takes approximately 3-4 weeks from the end of your viewing for your finished portraits to be ready for collection.
Where will my photo shoot take place?
This is your photo shoot so the choice of location is yours. We can either photograph at your home, or at a place that you enjoy as a family such as the park, the beach, the woods, or a combination of locations. We have the whole morning to play with and so we can easily fit in more than one location if we want to; for example, we could start at the park and then come home mid-morning for a drink and a snack and then have some pictures playing at home.
How much editing do you do to my photos?
All images are straightened, colour corrected and cropped appropriately to provide the best composition for the image. Obvious minor blemishes such a spots or scratches will be removed from larger portraits too. If you need more comprehensive editing such as merging images together (taking one head from a different image etc. I can do so
Can you Airbrush my images?
Whilst it’s not included as a standard feature of my wedding packages, I do provide a full ‘digital makeover’ package as part of my portrait photography. You can see an example here of a ‘cover model’ style retouching job.
Who has the copyright to the images and can I buy a copy on disk?
I retain the copyright to all my images. However, you are welcome to buy individual images or the complete set of print-ready digital files on a disc, which can be taken to any lab for reproduction. You will be granted a license to reproduce the images for your personal use, or to give to family and friends. You are not permitted to enter the pictures into any competitions, publications, or to sell them onto third parties.
Are you the photographer who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?
Yes – I will always be the primary photographer at your events.
Can we meet any assistants who will also be our taking pictures?
Yes of course!
How many other events will you also photograph that weekend?
None – I will only cover one wedding in a week – you have our my attention.
What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?
Our aim will be to bring the equipment we need! We also prefer to be mobile and to use the grounds of your chosen venue and natural light if at all possible. However, in the car will be studio lights, tripods, spare cameras, spare film, spare batteries, reflectors and allsorts of other equipment – just in case! We try to remember this is your wedding – not a photo shoot!
Do you print your own photos.
No – it’s far too time consuming. I use professional printers for all my printing requirements. I frequently send tests to new suppliers and specialist printing houses around the country and even some in Europe – we are constantly striving to achieve the best quality at a reasonable cost and have good working
